Travel Town is extremely proud and grateful for the dozens of young men and young women who have done their BSA Eagle Scout and Girl Scout Gold Award leadership projects at the Museum! The hard work and accomplishments of these scouts has had a tremendous impact on Travel Town, often providing the catalyst and resources necessary to accomplish important projects that would otherwise be beyond the reach of our own museum forces. These young men and women are indeed America’s Leaders of Tomorrow!

The BSA rank of Eagle Scout and the Gold Award in Girl Scouting are the highest rank achievements attainable in these scouting programs. One of the many requirements needed to earn these prestigious ranks is the successful completion of a leadership project that directly benefits the scout’s community. Each leadership project requires that the scout plan, organize, fundraise, and execute a significant community service project. At Travel Town, individual scouts are able to demonstrate their leadership abilities while also doing a “good turn” for the Museum and its visitors!
These projects are wonderful win-win situations for both the scouts and the Museum – providing great impetus for progress in the Museum’s historic preservation and education efforts!
